pffft, its just a slower version of your car with a better interior and options.

The interior isn't all that much better. Similar to the standard 6 with leather (My fiance has a 05 6s). Car has rattles like my Evo, the interior feels like my Evo, the only thing that is better (for obvious reasons) is the Bose stereo and the electrolumensient gauges.

Powerwise a lot of MS6s aren't making the power. The car is rated at 274 Hp like my Evo but most MS6 are making 200-220 whp. Stock Evos put down 230-240 whp.

I doubt that anyone on this planet frequents the various Mazda6 forums more than I do, and I don't know of a single MazdaSpeed6 dyno that was actually completed without some sort of noted failure in getting an effective, full pull. Either pulled timing issues or issues with the AWD system and TCS/DSC conflcits.

The only run I've seen that went without issue pulled a max of 238whp/277wtq (note that's as much wheel torque as the engine itself is rated at). And it took several runs to even get that without some sort of problem. But that's the only dyno I've seen and wouldn't quite jump to any conclusions on it yet with a sample size of 1 and with the variance that car exhibited over all its' runs.

There most certainly isn't enough dynos out there, failed or otherwise, to make a statement that "most" pull anything, let alone that most pull short. Anecdotal evidence combined with the dynos that we do have, failed or otherwise, show that the engine is rated for at least in the 220-240hp range easily with a LOT more torque than rated. And that's even given the current problems that the car has.

Subaru dropped off my list, down on the floor, and under that stinky floor mat in the corner of the garage. Why is that??? The idiot inspired front fascia now so painfully displayed on all their models. I'd rather walk then be caught driving something that fugly. Other then that I "loved" the hardware coming out of Subaru.

What I'd really like is an MS6 wagon. Oh well I'll save our money for a company that does offer what we want.

Take the Legacy GT... flash it and do a couple mods and then go chase down stock STI's.

Or buy an MS6 and stop trying to drive it like an Evo. I don't think I've ever seen Mazda or any real auto journal trying to position the thing as an alternative to the Mitsu that everyone seems to like complaining that it's not as good as. It's like buying a Chevy SSR and getting mad that it doesn't carry as much as an F-150.

Good points Sigma. One run does not definitive proof make....

Dismissing a car because you don't like the front fascia? If everyone shared your philosophy, then Subaru would have never sold a single WRX, and BMW would have never sold a 745.

Like it or not, aesthetic appeal is as big of factor for car purchasers as any other. There are plenty of people who like WRXs and 745s. There are people who like Azteks...

True, but it's not uncommon for the performance driven crowd to sacrifice / overlook / tradeoff aesthetic appeal for performance.

And all this time I thought Demon was a function over fashion kind of guy! Oh well!
