It very well could have been a test vehicle, it wouldn't have a low production # but they must have used test svt's for the new changes made that year. Mostly testing the strut valving and the engine improvements. i would think they would test it before production. You might have a rare one .

Thats cool to have a test car. So if the first production SVT's are cool. How about the last one off the line? Does anybody know if someone on here has the last SVT off the production line?

I do.. Its my second car. By the time they got to the last one, they decontented so much stuff it was actually fairly cheap to get it. Without having any radio.. seats, headlights(they got foggy anyway) sunroof, or front dash at all, I can almost fit it in my pocket.

Actually, you may have very early production 98 E1. I think I remember that E1 production sarted the first work day of February, 1998. My 98 E0 was produced in April, 1997. It is #240.

I also have a test vehicle tag in my engine bay. I know the history of my car, though, if it's helpful. My car (detailed in my sig) was owned by Ford and driven as a daily driver/tester by an SVT engineer. When the test period was coming to an end this engineer told a friend of mine who also worked at Ford that it would be coming up for sale if he was interested. My friend bought it and drove it for about 2 years before he sold it to me. I find it an interesting bit of my car's history, and your's apparently!
