It has nothing to do with hate. These drawings are not hate speech. They are a keen insight as to what is really going on. If people would step back and think about that, and not just act all hurt and offended, maybe they would realize they don't want their religion to be thought of that way and do something about those giving the religion that appearance.
As much as I disagree with those extremist Christians, and consider the time and place of their protests to be tasteless and pointless, they have the right to say it. The slippery slope of taking away rights to speech and expression just because we don't like certain speech is one I don't wish to travel down.
I am one of those "fags", and yes, I do just need to deal with the fact some people feel that way about my sexual orientation. They have every right to feel that way and to express those feelings. I have no right to take that away from them.
