I'm frankly glad the newspaper had the balls to publish these cartoons. It's great to see somebody is not afraid to say exactly what they think, and I think the cartoons are spot-on.

Second that. I also agree that it points out one of Islam's fundamental (pun intended) flaws. The people rioting believe that it's their duty to suppress any infidel attempt to marginalize their religion. I also assume they believe theirs is the only one true religion.
The Danes reacted OK by not apologizing for the cartoons (although they did apologize for the general "offending Muslims"), but IMO the rioters should have been dealt with more harshly. Quashing radical religious riots with equal violence is the only effective strategy IMO. And that applies to any religious-based violence, although Islam seems to have a lock on that ATM.

I find it funny that when this kind of stuff happens to Christianity or anything religion its freedom of speech, but when Islam is involved its blasphemy.

Muslims had a TV show in Egypt about blood drinking Rabbis. I never saw it, but I'm certain it was a feeble attempt at humor that didn't go over to well with Jewish peoples.
Supposedly, Muslims will not make fun of "prophets" like Moses, Jesus, or Mohummad. Rather strange when you consider it's Muslims holding a young jounalist hostage and threatening to behead her.
Where is the outrage over that?
