It happened twice already in the past 3 months, I get in the car turn the key, hear the click from the solenoid(?) and then nothing, turn the key again, click and nothing. Someone helps me push the car and I start the engine that way, from that point on it works again the next morning, next week, etc. Then again a month later same thing, turn key, click, nothing, and so on. What could be the problem? When it starts it starts just fine, so it seems that the starter itself is ok. Any suggestions on what to check?

either replace the starter solenoid (if possible, don't recall on this starter) or the starter. Its going, its just a matter of when it completely [censored] the bed.

Sounds like there are some possible clutch fibers getting into the starter, causing the shaft to stick. There's probably very little grease left on the shaft, and needs lubed up. For all the trouble, you might as well just replace it, or have yours rebuilt.

More than likey a "dead spot" on the armature.
Just replace it with a good quality unit.
