Wow, that's a cute house! Looks like the previous owner was a gardener - got any plans for the trellis and the crisscross on the front porch? (Personally i'd get rid of one and have vines on the other -- doing vines on both might look a bit busy, though it does depend on how you plan to do it )

Thanks again, guys!

Matt, we're not sure what will happen with the front porch. I don't like the two sides up like that. It's too constricting, I think. I like the vines idea for one side, though. Thanks for the inspiration!

We'll definitely have some sort of a garden. There's a good spot in the back of the house, too. Looks like it's been fairly well used.

What you can't see at the front of the house is that the walkway is made of individual slabs... all in playing card suits.

Once the current owner is gone, we'll snap a bunch of good pics for you all.

And, yeah, Ryan... the next few months are going to feel like they go on forever. I'm really not looking forward to the wait!

Looks great man!!!! Enjoy and hold on to your wallet. The first 2 months of home ownership seem to be more expensive that the closing costs

Congrats! Looks great! I've started the process myself and I'm trying to determine what's best for me right now.

Did you use any of the housing programs in MA for First Time Home buyers? If so, I'd be interested to know what worked for you guys.

There was something that we qualified for at 100% financing, but, I can't remember the full deal.

I really can't wait to get moving into the house. So many plans, so much time to wait!

if you can, look into somehting that is interest only.
you will get lower rates to start with and lower monthly payments.
make sure there are no prepayment penalties so you can pay towards the principal at anytime.

the good thing about these loans is the fact that you get lower payments at first to help get you into the house and settled. bad side is the rate is usually variable.
then after 6 months look to refinance, even if you dont have any extra equity in the house this will allow you to lock in at a decent rate with only a slight increase in payments.

I like hoe the foyer juts out. You don't see that too often. At least here in MI. Makes it looks larger and more upscale.
