Events like those can make a person decide what to do in life. I wouldn't be surprised if some of your classmates become pilots, who would later attribute their career choice on that event.

I had a similar event happen to me. But it was for the West Los Angeles College Fire Academy. Fire 3, a Bell 412 helo landed near us on the field, and at that moment, I received my badge for Cadet Captain. If I were still in LA, I would probably be in the LAFD right now, and working on a helicopter license (though I may get it later on). Oh, how things can change...

Is my car for sale? PM me if you're in South FL.

Hahaha, you're all BAD kids getting sent of to military school!
My parents used to threaten me with that all the time.
Now, I wish they had, I'd be in my present position like eight years ago instead of now.

Nice aircraft, I almost flew them. However, the Apache is better. Firepower, and you don't have to play Taxi for anyone.

Do they make gunship versions of the blackhawk?

Well, if you count the pintle mounts for Miniguns, most any Hawk can be configured to have some weapon capability. And IIRC the ones with the "wings" have at least been demonstrated carrying rocket pods, for example. If the need for heavily armed versions came up, it'd be easy enough to set up a squadron or two, but when you've got Apaches and/or SuperCobras that do the job better...

Pretty cool.

I did some work down at Sikorsky working on various rotor blades and had a chance to tour the Blackhawk manufacturing area. Its quite the plant!
