It will take a brave soul to buy an LS or GT in the coming months, put together by disgruntled union thugs.

The Zephyr isn't an LS replacement, though.

I was pissed about the vett comparison to Ford GT. Even though u can never replace a GT with a vette. NEVER. But damn GM did a great job!!
maybe im biased but id replace the ford GT with an 06 Z06 anyday , hahassorry dude lol
The new Z06 is my dream car, and yes i am a chevy fan , u cant go better getting the power, performance of a supercar for 1/3 of the price
comparing a GT to a ZO6 is like comparing a picasso to a velvet elvis painting. they both get the same job done, but one is exceptionally cooler than the other.

Yeah I agree I wish they would keep the LS. Sweet @$$ car!
I love the styling on the LS. Maybe a used LS wont be hard to get now.

I had hoped at one point that the GT would be able to compete with the 'Vette, but when it actually came out, the price tag put it in line with "base" model Ferarris, which is sort of the point of the GT40 history. Still, the Vette remains in a class of its own, and given the performance of the Z06, if it's really comparable to the new Ford GT, economics would have to rule.
While I like the Ford GT, there is a big difference between a "real" collector's item like an original GT40 with racing history, and a completely new car designed to recall the history of an earlier car.

GT = supercar Z06 = musclecar w/ supercar performance
There is a difference. There are thousands of porsche, ferrari, and lamborghini owners that didn't buy their cars because they're the best performing. And Ford didn't have a problem selling the GTs.

If you're the type where "economics would have to rule" then you're not really the type of person the GT is aimed at.
While an EVO can beat a Lambo performance-wise, that doesn't make it a supercar.

Have you even seen a GT? The interior is quite spartan compared to the likes of the 'Vette - intentionally. The car not only recalls the history of the GT40, but emulates it in style & experience.
Yes, dollar for dollar, the 'Vette is a better bargain, but the GT is a more primal experience that is a reflection of the original GT40. Ford did a fine job with it and added some modern touches to downplay/eliminate some of the shortcomings of the original. IMHO, the whole idea behind it was for marketing, just to get some passions stirred for the nameplate - they never intended to put forth a long production run.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

where does the Viper fit into your classifications?
i dont see the vette as a "muscle car". its a sports car with supercar performance, the Z06 anyway.
