Ok, my charing light is flickering at about 1,000 RPM's and then is steady if you get on the gas. So that rules out the megafuse. Another thing is if you go light on the gas the charging light doesn't come on. Battery test show that the alternator is not kicking in. I know the alternator is good. Now where should I start checking on the wire connectors. I've searched but could not find a direct answer.

How do you know the alternator is good, considering every symptom is pointing TO an alternator.

Not 100% sure it is myself, but given its history of going into the shop for a new altenator and then the charging light coming back on and when it was diagnosed a second time it turned out to be the connector to the altenator. This was only 2 weeks ago and now the charging light is back on. The altenator is only 2 months old, which I know still doesnt keep it from being bad but I figured I would do the cheap easy ones first and start out with the connection. Since it seems to be the most logical place to start.

That is certainly the smart thing to do, Spazz.
It could be a loose connector to the alternator, frayed wiring, etc, not carrying enough current through it, or a slipping serp belt, too.

How do i go about testing the connectors? I know that in the event of a lose connection I can do the "wiggle" test. Never thought about the belt slipping. Thanks.

With the car running, test the battery across the terminals. You should get 13.5 to 14.5 volts. If not, guess what part needs to be changed? That's why the charge light flickers.

Finally took it into the Stealership and it turned out to be a connection between the alternator and the battery.

My wife's car, 98 mystique 4 cyl, the alternator light been on and off for 2 years. Been to garage number of times and all computer test showed everything is good even when the alternator is on.
Dealer replace the wire? or just just the connectors? Can I fix it DIY? what parts number?
Thanks

If you are not losing charge, leave it alone. The dealer will charge you one hour diagnosis with a "could not duplicate problem" on the invoice.

Although there is no problem in charging, starting or any power surge for last 2 years. We use the car mostly city driving. Want to fix it so we can take the car for long trip, peace in mind.
