Nice. I like how clean it looks with the debadge. I really like those cars, even though they have some stuff that I normally don't like: huge spoilers, air scoop, etc. But somehow that car can pull it off.

I like the car ... a lot . I wouldn't change a thing . I like the Evos , but the STi is a much better-looking car IMHO . I'd take one in a half-a-heartbeat if I could afford one .

^^ Thanks, was hoping it would pass your inspection. I would say I'm almost as anal as you when it comes to keeping my car in great condition. It's garaged 7 days a week (I only drive it about once a week now since my wife and I work together), has 6 coats of Zaino and has been claybarred at least 3 times.

I try and tell my wife that theres legions of us out there, those who will stop at nothing to have a clean car all the time, no matter what!!! I'm glad my rep has gotten all the way down to Texas, one state at a time and "The Compound" will be completely national Next step...THE WORLD!

I always loved the Subaru STi, especially 2004-05 styling. I hope to own one in the future, but I worry about there reliability and accessabilty(working on engine, etc.)
How do you like it so far, any problems that you know of?

^^ Some are known to burn oil (Subaru says 1 qt/1k miles is ok) but my doesn't, although I didn't rev over 4500 RPMS much for the first 1k miles (followed Subaru's break in procedure). Working on the engine may be a pain as well since it is a boxer engine and is horizontal (I know changing out the spark plugs can be a pain) but other than that it's great.

Compared to a contour WRX's are cake to work on... and the spark plugs aren't that hard with a couple extensions...
Reliability... besides tranny problems... which are debatable w/o abuse.. and the sti tranny is pretty tough to break.. the wrx is extremely reliable from my experience and all indications.

Reliability is a concern only because its a perf car, but if you were to buy one of these cars off of someone like this guy you'd be all right. I say this because of what he stated about the "break in procedure" This is very important and I did as much when I bought my CSVT, I even called SVT and asked them how to do it properly. Back to the reliability issue though, the STI is supposed to have a "bullet-proof" tranny and as long as all the service intervals have been done and he's got documentation for oil changes and what not, I say GO FOR IT ...I will, next time
