I changed the trans fluid in my SVT when Redline MTL was apparently OK to use (that merry go round of a subject is cause enough for me to loathe this car). Anyhow, that was about 25k miles ago.
When sitting at a dead stop, a strange smell tends to creep into the cabin - it's not totally constant, but it happens on a daily basis. It doesn't smell like honey roasted clutch or not enough oil in the engine - but maybe the transmission fluid cooking??
FYI - I do have difficulty shifting, particularly into 1st and 3rd.
Would this be the MTL cooking? Trans taking a dump? Delusions?
I dunno. Also, I've tried sifting through the piles of discussion surrounding the transaxle fluid of choice (for this week at least) but I think the tax code makes for a more entertaining read. Anyone have the Cliff's notes?
