Contour Enthusiasts Group Archives Forums General General Should a 98 SE have an ashtray and my fuel pump whines?

I'm in the midst of buying a 98 SE (V6 & stick). I told the dealer the car was missing an ashtray and he said he would put in a new one, but his other Contours don't have one either. So he can't canabalize one for me.

Also, the fuel pump whines. My mechanic said pull it ($350ish). Anybody have any idea if he's right? Thanks,
