I completely agree... production cost wise and so on, they would leave it the same... but they do change the pinout around quite often for different versions of the cars, different years, etc. That's all I want to know... bassicaly how this EEC worked in a 98 SVT and it doesn't in mine... the cars are identical, I have one of my spare keys with the PATS transmitter that matches that EEC. Unless there is something drasticaly in the EEC because of production differences... I don't see why it wouldn't work.

My car is a 98.5... I thought that all SVT's in 98 were also 98.5's... which means that the PATS systems are the same... (older ones have a seperate PATS computer, 98.5 is when they changed it to be integrated in the EEC).

The only other thing I can think of is that a SVT does NOT have traction control... mine does... and that IS EEC driven. That would more than likely change the pinout of the harness... not sure though... that's why I need to look at both of them to see what's different.
