No need to go 'SVT' specific since anything that works for the SVT will work well with the non SVT. The rebuild is just for cleaning up the intake tract and making sure there are no air leaks in the system. Even my lowly Mystique benefits well from a good intake cleaning & overhaul.
BeyondloadedSE has a great deal of experience & is completely correct to recommend the K&N RU-3530 and a GOOD maf adapter. This system is used, proven, and loved by both SVT and non-SVT owners. I can't recall a single argument against it except for heatsoak in the summer, but you'll get that with ANY short RAM intake system.
Most of the EBAY intake systems are junk. Right off the bat you can throw out the filter of the vast majority of them or use it only for show, 'cause it ain't worth a crap for flow. The MAF adapter on many of them is crap too because it may have only a rectangular or square window cut into a backing plate, then piece of pipe welded on. The reduced flow area hurts performance badly - especially at top end of the rpm range. The MAF adapter should have the entire circular opening available for air flow.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.
