I have decided to keep my conotur for a few more year. So I am now looking at what I can do to it, and what would be realistic for me to expect to get out of it. It is a 95 se v6 5speed with 69xxx miles.
So short of doing a 3L swap or forced induction, what 0-60 speeds can I see with bolt-ons, ram intake, headers, catback exaust, then a tune of course. I also plan to do a lsd, and some suspesion work, the suspesion will come first. What else other than freeing up the intake and exaust can I do to gain speed? G-teching my car the best time I got a 8.6 for a 0-60, but that was a pretty mild launch.
So any advice would be great!

Stock 0-60 times should be at 7.7 seconds as recorded by Car and Driver. Although, trusting a G-tech isnt always accurate.
You may want to try cleaning the intake manifolds from all the carbon build up. That should free up a few hp. Never heard of a RAM intake...hopefully its not one of intakes on ebay. I would just go with a tried and proven K&N RU-3530 and maf adapter. It wouldnt hurt to optimize the stock throttle body or just buy the svt intake manifolds and throttle body and optimize that. A tune will most definetely help. Tires make a world of a difference too.

short ram intake, not cold air, just a straight pipe and a filter. Would a non svt car benifit from svt intake manifolds without a tune?

With the svt upper and lower rebuild will you need to get a intake for an svt? Is there a difference between svt and non-svt aftermarket intakes? Right now I have a intake for a non-svt.

remember he has a 95 and the lower intake manifold isn't going to be very fun to get working with it. SVT exhaust, intake, ypipe, precats should be a must to get done. I am half way there and rpms in the upper range increased fairly well. Then go with SVT intake manifold and if you want to put the SVT throttle body (more pain in the butt mod) on it you can. Those are the basic bolt ons you can do.

No need to go 'SVT' specific since anything that works for the SVT will work well with the non SVT. The rebuild is just for cleaning up the intake tract and making sure there are no air leaks in the system. Even my lowly Mystique benefits well from a good intake cleaning & overhaul.
BeyondloadedSE has a great deal of experience & is completely correct to recommend the K&N RU-3530 and a GOOD maf adapter. This system is used, proven, and loved by both SVT and non-SVT owners. I can't recall a single argument against it except for heatsoak in the summer, but you'll get that with ANY short RAM intake system.
Most of the EBAY intake systems are junk. Right off the bat you can throw out the filter of the vast majority of them or use it only for show, 'cause it ain't worth a crap for flow. The MAF adapter on many of them is crap too because it may have only a rectangular or square window cut into a backing plate, then piece of pipe welded on. The reduced flow area hurts performance badly - especially at top end of the rpm range. The MAF adapter should have the entire circular opening available for air flow.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

personally,i wouldnt go that in depth with it,trust me i've had just about every n/a bolt on done to my non svt duratec engine..from both svt upper and lim,svt tb,svt injectors, kkm intake,BAT pipe,customcougars.com true cold air intake, chip, pulleys, three different exhausts, two y pipes, msds headers...etc.....and now all of that on a swapped in svt engine...in the end its just not worth it,if i could do it again,i would've went with a intake and exhaust and rims..than left it,i liked the way my se rode before it had eibachs and dif sway bars and strut braces. just stick with those two fairley cheap mods, and enjoy the music the duratec sings...if you cant find a svt exhaust, pick up a monza from BAT,pretty cheap, ceg has given it a bad rep,we have a cougar who's been running it for over three years around here without a problem

So you're saying that changing to the SVT uim.lim and throttle body isn't worth the time and money? Not what I really want to hear. I all the parts sitting in my garage.

I dunno about the monza exhaust, but BAT has always been great to deal with for me.
By the way, I haven't seen a Monza exhaust for the Contour in the time I've been dealing with BAT, and all of the Cougar choices have been discontinued as well...
