http://www.9photos.com/briangrimes/pyr/court.jpgWorking on a poster for a dance performance taking place in 4 racquetball courts. Here it is, would you mind offering some criticism? I should note I am still not extremely happy with the blue text up top. Ideas about that would be wonderful.

looks good but in my opinion in the red box for the girls names, i would switch the second and third lines around so that each line gets shorter as you read down....

I actually like the blue text. It has a nice feel in that space of the design. What I am confused on is the "Translations". Why the white/lt blue diagonal across the text? Have you tried a "see through" for that text? Or perhaps some type of mesh like on the raquetball racket. You could also try entering in some subtle dance cues. I'm not sure what type of dancing they're doing, and it would be nice to incorporate that. My two cents!
EDIT: And another creative mojo idea: how about giving the blue "box" some diagonal wrapping and dimension, similar to that of a racket handle?

could you explain the event a bit more? is it a performance about r-ball? tell us why the poster looks the way it does right now. what was your thinking behind the colors, layout, etc. a strong concept leads to a strong design.

Put two blue balls together. It would get more women to sign up.

i like the blue and the background and everything....but i think that maybe the names of the girls should be at less of a slant....maybe enlarge the red box and mmove them down...or just move the names and have half of the names in the box and half out...just am opinoon
other than that...great poster! nice work

In this "interactive dance performance," are the women wearing tops?

Rider got my thought across pretty well. If the poster can be seen from multiple angles (if it were on a floor or a wraparound on a pillar) I think it would be alright to use the text at all angles. The angles could actually deter the slightly interested into becoming not interested, too.
Perhaps you should try the text scrolling *across* the court, as if it is coming at you like the ball would. An idea for thought, that's all
No other critiques though, friend. Good sense of style imo.

Too be honest, I havent had a lot of input from the person organizing this event. What I do know is this. Several dance students from the university will be pulling performing a variety of dance pieces. Most all of them will be modern dance. They will be "installed" if you will in 4 racquetball courts at the universities new state of the art rec center. Interact, not really sure what that means, but I think it has something to do with how the audience will be able to move around on the courts and the dances. My girlfriend slid that in, who was originally commissioned to do the poster. Pretty interesting contrast. Not something a lot of people are going to expect. I am hopefully raised a bit of curiosity with the poster.
As far as the slants go, yeah, I need to figure some things out there. The really important info is easy to read or on a slant with very little text. The names at the bottom do need some adjustment.
Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions. Ill keep you updated on it progress if youre still interested.
