A shop told me the Zetec tranny removal is easier than the Duratec removal and I was wondering if the Zetec tranny is lighter or is it just that there is less to disconnect.Does anyone know how heavy the trannys are and can they be lifted by 1 person.I might get one at a wrecking yard and want to know if I can put it in the trunk easily.

Well... I bet it's easier to take out the Zetec than the Duratec if removing it all from the top!

the tranny is around 150 lbs or so. if your reasonably strong you can lift it in the trunk just be careful and dont hurt your back. i threw mine out trying to lift a bare 454 block off the ground

It's 150 lbs?!? I carried mine before, and I knew it was heavy, just didn't think it was actually that much.
