This weekend I was in an accident with my 99 red Contour SVT, in the beaverton area. It was so nice, I only had it a month. . . frown

I think it is totaled. Front end collision at about 50. The frame is bent, all the belts are loose, the sun roof won't close right, the engine is all squashed together, and all the rims are bent. I need to find someplace that does body work and engine work that can work on the car. Preferably that knows exactly what an SVT is. More than likely they will just confirm it is totalled but, I gotta take it somewhere. I was thinking about just taking it to the dealership Landmark Ford.

I am so depressed. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Man, that sucks! Are you ok? Since you're posting I'm assuming you are. It sounds like the damage is pretty bad and they will total it out. Infact, the damage sounds bad enough that if they don't total it out you should probably get rid of it anyway. You may come out ahead on the deal. Maybe you could get another one. There are a couple around the area for sale.

Yes, I am ok. I have a pretty nasty chunck of skin the air bag chewwed off my fore head but it beats a steering wheel in my teeth. The Insurance lady wants me to go to Kadels in Hillsboro, but I am a little leary of going where the insurance place wants. Could anyone recomend a good place?

I'd say take it to the dealer and one or two other places to get quotes. I agree about not really wanting to take it to the place the insurance place recommends, but I don't know what your companies policy is on that.

Sorry to hear about the accident. At least you're ok. It shouldn't be too difficult to find another car. As ugly as the Focus is, an SVT Focus wouldn't be to bad to look into.

If your car does get totaled, how diffucult would it be to get the engine? Damaged or not. I think I will be working on a project this summer and will need an engine for mocking up pieces for fabrication.

And if that doesn't happen, does anyone know of a blown 2.5 that is available?

I felt a disturbance in the force...

Sorry, had to say something stupid like that with the upcoming Star Wars movie.

That sucks big....

Glad your ok. Check the ads and look around, there are still some Contour SVT's running around for sale. Or you may just get a sport version and upgrade it to a SVT clone (damn, sounded like another thing related to star wars)...

Another one bites the dust. Tis a dark day indeed...

The nice thing about Oregon is that you can take your car to ANY body shop you wish, and you only have to get ONE estimate! I generally go for the place that is the most expensive and does the best work.

The insurance companies don't necessarily like this law, so they may try to tell you otherwise, but as soon as you mention it, they'll quiet down real quick!

Sorry to hear about your 'tour! I am glad you're okay though!
