Haha, reminds me of ESU, behind where the campus police park the cars is about 3 feet of grass, a sidewalk, 2 more feet of grass, and then a lightpole, and one night at midnight, I saw a cop get into the unmarked Intrepid they have, put it in reverse, peel out and smash backwards into the lightpole, he then turned on his lights and siren and attempted to peel out, but the grass was wet and for a minute or so he only succeeded in tearing ruts in the muddy ground, finally made it out, drove down the embankment, onto the road at the bottom, and as soon as he turned the corner, turned off his lights and drove like normal. The Intrepid has a large and now rusting dent in the drivers side quarter panel in the back and the light housing is partly smashed. The lightpole was at a slight angle and I was left laughing for a long time with my friends.

it has become clear now that a FWD platform has some new advantages over a RWD one. There is no way a Mustang could have reverse humped a tree as successfully as that.

It still looks photoshopped to me. Secondly, how can that small tree bent at an angle withstand the weight of the car w/o collapsing? Just doesn't jive.

trees are very strong little dudes.
if someone photoshopped this, they thought of everything. and kept the car and it surroundings in the same locations from every angle.
not every picture you see that looks a little strange is photoshopped.
if you look at the base of the tree the trunk is not bent, meaning that the root ball is shifted below the surface of the ground and holding the trunk up.

Looks like another case of meaning to hit the brakes, but hitting the gas instead.
Suppose if the ground was soft enough, and they were backing out of the opposite driveway, it could have happened.

Having worked for a tree service, I'll second that! Strong roots will give the tree the ability to hold quite a bit more than it's own weight.

I bet $5 that the driver claims they were trying to stop the car "but it just kept going!"
