I bought my 'tour with 62k on the clock. I immediately changed to Mobil1 and a K&N HP-2004 oil filter. I have never had any problems. I rev the living crap out of my Zetec daily and am now at 138k. It doesn't burn or leak any oil.
BTW, I also use mobil1 synthetic ATX fluid. If you don't have synthetic ATX fluid, change over to that now too. One of the main problems with the Contour ATX is that it doesn't have a servicable filter. I change my fluid once a year and my CD4E is still running strong. If you are planning on any power, you should also add a tranny cooler.
