he does seem like a really cool guy and very nice in person when i saw him at sema. although, in order to obtain his autograph you had to purchase one of his hats, tshirts or posters to have signed.  the posters were like $10 iirc. i was suprised, thats pretty lame. everyone else there was just signing whatever and providing free posters to sign. on the flipside, met steve saleen. didnt seem to be the nicest, most joyous person on the planet.

It's been a while since I've watched Overhaulin. I couldn't get past the pair of idiot hosts, though it now looks like there's a different chick. I think if they just changed the format of the show to something where Chip just drives around, steals random cars, and fixes them up I'd watch more.
