Been paid off since spring of 2002. Bought it in 1997. You do the math. But saddled with new debt: 2004 Mazda 6 and 2006 F150. Gotta love credit.

Paid cash $21,000 when I bought it new. I don't believe in borrowing money.

Care to elaborate? I don't mean to get personal, but how do you go your whole life without borrowing? Unless you live in an apartment, or had property just given to you. Well, if you're one of the original Beachboys, I suppose you could plop down cash on a house, but seriously.....

I like the philosophy. I agree on a small scale, the only things I ever want to have to borrow money for are a house, car (if I ever buy a new car that is), and my college education. Otherwise, I'm against buying now and paying later.
