Writing your own OS, eh? Sounds like a rough class. Well, I'll ASSume you already know how to use a compiler (GCC ?). If not here's where to go.

Thanks. i guess what i'm doing is jumping in and doing it... I guess i'm just not used to non graphical based OS's... what's wrong with Emacs? I know nothing about it except it's the method suggested by the professor...
