Probably because...

"This is pissing me off...
I buy a SUV sticker at $40,000 dollars...395hp and I have to sweat a stock $22,000 dollar 230hp srt-4.
I don't mind the WRX as much at least thats a $30K to $35K car,with 300hp.
I know the horse power to weight is the issue...but dammm a SRT-4.
WTF....!!!!!!!!
We are talking from a stand still right???or a roll????"

The idiot claims to know what HP to weight ratio is, but is still confused as to why the SRT-4 will kick their POS Chubbrolet's ass.

From anything other than a Dig, the SRT-4 will easily handle the TB SS. Its all in the launch for those things. Same with the Silverado SS. I tried to compare acceleration capablities with one in the rain, forget it. The CSVT traps a lot faster, but it sure can't outlaunch it. In the wet, it was hopeless.

Maybe because those guys are calling a CSVT an "import"?

'98 Contour SVT - Please pardon our dust, under heavy construction. '96 Escort LX - Pretender to the throne.

Wow! Those people really are missing the piont of the TBSS. It's a $30k SUV with go fast parts, not a $10k compact w/ go fast parts. Let them abide in their ignorance. Regardless, I'd rather have an SRT8 JGC.

Well they are not completely full of it. They run the quarter in 14.4 and o-60 in something like 6.3. Not bad for a big truck. Linky
We really seem to get spanked by everything these days.

Hardly anyone I've talked to knows that... They usually assume I'm a ricer and just bought the SVT badge.

Hmm. I like the stats and reviews on the SS. Perhaps the wife and I will have to swing through the Chevrolet dealer when were out shopping for an SUV.
