I'm happy w/ Vongage. Local retailers (BB, CC) pay you for the equipment. Lots of nice features features included. Sometimes voice quality suffers, probably due to the cable internet varying quality, but overall it is good. The one thing that bugs me is that they do not send out my name for caller ID. It works fine for incomingcalls, but my number now shows up with something generic, Michigan caller, maybe.
