Grandmother's maiden name. She is the one who married into the Boner family.
Funny thing was right after I graduated from college, back before the internet was much more than a drawing at DARPA, my mother said at my Army comissioning ceremony that if I wanted to change my name, it would be ok with her.
Well, it took me another 19 years, but I finally did it.
