it is reasons like that I love my new car with automatic headlights and my g.f.s car with ones that shutoff when the car is off. I think it is a pain when i disconnect the batt for whatever reason and I have to reset all the bandwidths on my pioneer headunit. Can't imagine on yours.

I got mine for $50 brand new. If the deck would have been the only thing that reset I wouldn't care too much.. but my amps reset as well.
I know your pumping up your new deck like crazy now but you were doing the exact same thing last year for your 9855.. Its only a matter of months before your bashing your CD8051 and praising something else..

Your amps reset? What?

I could walk out to my car and disconnect the battery right now with the full knowledge that all I'd have to re-set on my National/World Champion audio system is the clock.

Hasn't Alpine ever heard of an EEPROM? Heck, my 8 year old Sony ES head/EQ can be disconnected for months without a problem. Quality design Alpine.

Well, because of this stupidity got the best of me and I left my headlights on and when I was leaving work today my car was dead.. But the worst part was after I got jumped and turned on the radio..
I got the fireworks greeting and "Happy new year!!" across my CDA-9835 S.O.B.!!!! All my setings gone. all my amp link profiles and settings to my digital amps gone!

Now I know this may sound pathetic to those of you out there with bass, treble and fade control. But anyone who ownes a 9833, 9835 or 9855 with a full amplink set up I'm sure can feel my pain. literally hours of tweaking to perfection down the drain. Oh well, at least I had a good week.

you mean you didnt burn all the info on a cd?

Something else you could do to counter it is install a battery with a diode (so it doesn't try to run your whole accessory circuit) to save your settings...

I heard a saying once that pertains to this situation...

"A person that truly loves their car will never leave their lights on. They always look back at their car several times as they walk away from it."

I know I do...

You have no idea how many times I've gone back out to my car minutes after arriving where ever to make sure I locked it and all lights were off.
