I was just wondering if anyone is interested in starting a contour club here in Oregon. I have a couple of friends that would like to start it too.

If anyone is interested, let me know. Maybe a Ford car club...Mustangs, Focus, SHO's, etc SVT Focuses hehe

Ideas?

Well if we are going to do this, we probably need to figure out who all is in, already in progress thanks to JR. The next step would probably be a G2G. I've proposed a couple already and have some more ideas such as Go-Kart racing in Vancouver (35mph GoKarts = lots of fun!). In case you missed those G2G's proposed here they are:

Portland Auto Show - Feb 2nd or 3rd (perferablly 2nd for me)

Icebreaker - an anuall first race of the season for the Eugene Autox club ( EESCC ) March 2nd, come watch or race!

Once we have a good G2G I feel it will be a lot easier to meet up the next time we decide to. It's great having a larger club because you attract a little more attention from the higer ups. Take for instance when I joined the Norcal Focaljet club on a G2G. They have quite a few members. When HIN came to the bay area in October the SVT team contacted them and we got to go hang out with the SVT crew and the CSVT for a night. It was a lot of fun cruising around following the Focus SVT. I was awesome getting to set in it and play around with everything too.

Basically for this to work we need to have some support. If we decide to have G2G we need to have some attendance. If 3 members out of 20 show up, it really isn't a G2G in my opinion. I grant you some of you can't come at certain times, and that is great, but when we take roll call, speak up.

Sorry I sound like I'm preaching, but I'd like to see this happen and if it takes me kicking it in the ass to do so, I will. If you can suggest some other methods of organization or can contribute in your own special way PLEASE do! I kinda feel like the outsider here right now cause I'm brand new to this Tour thing and live in Southern Oregon, half a state, if not a full one away from the rest of you. LETS DO THIS!!! laugh
