Agreed. It would have happened regardless. I hadn't been to the touchless down by my house since I've had the Mirko, so I thought I'd try it out. I pulled up to the rails before paying, got out of the car, and saw that there was no way it was going to clear it.
I think most people's point is, don't go through manual car washes, as they're tough on the paint. Sure they have "soft cloth", but who do you think went through there before? Ever see a jacked up 4x4 truck that just went mudding go through a car wash? Think that mud just disappears? Same thing with the foaming brushes at the DIY car washes. People use those things on their paint!
I can't help but cringe when I see someone using them on a decent car.
