IDs probly b/c there is a lot of money involved...

Reserve price... probly so he can get as much money out of it as possible. I see it as once it meets reserve, anyone new to the auction won't know what it was set at, so might be willing to bid higher (since they won't know if it had a $1 reserve, for example...). If people see a low reserve price, they might think something is wrong with it. Might not be the correct logic, but anyway.
