Originally posted by bobmin: Sounds like OEM might be the way to go. And since Team Ford is in NV I should save some bucks on shipping to Oregon as compared to BAT.
However, is there really a different SVT strut? I've looked at the Team Ford parts site and they only list a single front and single rear part number for Contour struts. I checked on brakes just to see if they do have any SVT stuff and that category lists both SVT and non-SVT parts.
Also, is it best to just order through the website or call Bill on the phone?
I'd call to make sure you get the right part #'s. It is different, although the website sometimes is incomplete.
Here's an email I got from Bill back in '03:

Roger,
The design is the same for all 98+ Contours, but the dampening is different between SVT and the SE/regular model.
SVT F8RZ-18124-FA (front) Regular F8RZ-18124-BA (front)
SVT F8RZ-18125-HA (rear) Regular F8RZ-18125-AA (rear)

Function before fashion.
