Viss1,
You consider the TrailBlazer ugly?! Wow...I can see the Aztek or Avalanche, but the TB is one of the best looking SUVs on the market, IMO.
As for the Focus, I would love to have an FSVT. I got to drive Foci extensively on business trips and couldn't get over how much better they were than my contour when it came to noise and interior fit and finish.

IMO, If... there is enough demand for the SVT Focus,(none left sitting on dealer lots) AND,.. Ford wins the manufacturers title in WRC,(Probable) AND,.. Colin McRae wins the championship,(hopefully) AND...Mitsubishi imports the EVO....
MAYBE, Ford will bring in the RS....maybe. In tarmac Rally trim, the WRC Focus looks bad a**, with 18" OZ's. IMHO.
You either like it, or you don't. But the Focus isn't going away, and it's only going to get better,

In a few words: Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V If only for the fact that it will probably undercut the Focus SVT by a few thousand $. SE-R Spec-V is $17K for Pete's sake! It's my next car. Period.

Read an article in Motor Trend(i think?) that compared a bunch of sub 25k performance cars and they were not very impressed with the SE-R...ended up in fifth out of six cars IIRC, actually could have been fourth, don't remember for sure though?

I still contend that anyone with any intelligence at all, can only fault the SVT Focus for its controversial appearance, and a lack of size/space/doors for certain users.
Any other complaint is pure speculation, as no one on this board has driven one, and I would wager the number that have ridden in one I could count on one hand, and the number that have sat in one could be counted on both hands.
Fwiw, the SVT Focus, though I hate to admit it :D, will outrun and outhandle an SVT Contour (stock vs. stock is a given) and that is a fact.
It's all about balance.

The MAIN reason I would not buy a Focus SVT is that still owe $12K on my Contour SVT. And I DON'T want to start over at $22K..... Just yet....

Well, my personal reasons why I won't be buying an SVT Focus...
1) Car is too small (the front seat is less roomy than the Contour's.) Also an issue of the overall feel and demeanor of the car. The Contour is a lot classier.
2) Focus hatchbacks are UGLY!
3) Not a V6, Would prefer to have a Duratec doing this over a 4-cylinder. Or else maybe a turbo over N/A.
Why go through all the money and engineering to make this engine when there's already nice turbo ones in the European toybox? Waste of money if you ask me.
If I had to buy a small sports sedan, I think I'd take the Spec V or maybe a Protege 5 (would be looking for more motor if I did the Protege).
You can pillage an enemy once, but a customer is an endless resource.
