Yeah, I agree with your viewpoint Mark.
The work you did Hector was great! It made a zetec ATX run with a base SVT. But getting times lower is like raising the volume on your stereo, it is progressively more difficult and expensive the more you go.

Very well put and VERY, VERY true about getting a car to go faster as you go down in E.T.'s. I guess the best example is if you have say an F-body that runs its mid 13's stock, then, do a couple bolt-ons and it runs into the 12's and then you wanna go 11's w/o the use of NOS or S/C'er, although those would be the easiest routes. So even if you did the S/C'er or NOS, then look at what it takes to go into the low 11's/high 10's...$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$  and then you have to worry about breakage and building up the rearend to an 9" Ford, changing out stalls, etc. I'm glad those days are long behind me, been there, done that, now its time for canyon carving and cruizin'

It's a matter of power. Give an 18 second Contour an extra 50HP and you can take 3 seconds off of it's 1/4 mile time. Give a mid 13 second F-body 50HP and hope for low 13's. I'm sure someone will give some sort of equation to figure out how much HP it takes to drop X seconds off your ET, depending on stock power.

I played with that. Defintely not a solid calculator. 195hp was good for a 16.0, to hit a 15.0 you needed 231hp. Somethings a-miss there, a stock 195hp CSVT will pull a 15.4, and I know my last ride was pulling 15.0's and wasn't pushing 231hp, probably closer to 200hp and 225ft/lbs. Interesting little toy though.
