He is saying that the svt focus GETRAG is not the trans of "Choice". I dechipher this as meaning not a good choice but still in fact possible. He is just stating the tranny does not have the torque capacity for a v6 ....this is the reason i put to everyones attention of the quaife for the getrag tranny. Now what does he really mean and is it possible?..i don't know..




No, "not the trans of choice" means it will not work. It barely holds the power out of the 4 cylinder in the FSVT, so no way would it even hold in a stock CSVT. I don't think it's just the diff in it, I'm going out on a limb and saying it's the tranny in whole (like, even if you put the Quaife in, you're still gonna break other parts).

Your only choice as of now is to get an ST220 6 speed from here, ship it to the states (I think HMS handles that part), then modify some crap and put it in your car... sound like a fun time?
