I have been thinking of throwing in a 6 speed tranny in my 98 CSVT. Most people I talked to, even CSVT owners, all said that they never heard of anyone doing it. I am sure SOMEONE out there has done this. I did some research on the web (very difficult to do especially some foreign web pages) and ran into just a few talks about a kit that might be available, or the tranny itself in Europe, do to that the Contour is a Mondeo in Europe. Any thoughts on this subject?

i do belive there is one guy in this forum that had the 6spd in his contour not sure who it is tho

hey hey now i wasent saying ther 100% is , i said i belive
i thought i read some where that TH was the only one to import and do it ..
but now that i looked back at the posts i was wrong ..
so dont be so fast to snap back ...
a correction or other help woulda been more usefull and needed ...

Or about every 8th thread started in this forum, from now back to 2001. This question gets asked, literally every week. But thanks for asking, I was looking for a reason to pound my forehead into a shard corner, repeatedly.

by the way, Terry passes along this info:
...The Focus Getrag 6 speed is NOT the trans of choice
for a 2.5/3.0 V6.The Mondy ST220 trans is the one,as
used in the Noble,currently being modded for a Noble
owner at HMS Inc...The Focus trans does not have the
torque capacity for any V6,it's lower than a stoc
MTX75 5 speed!
