Turns out my cat was clogged (zetec engine). Feels like a turbo under there - haha - must have really been down on power.
Symptoms were engine practically shut down after 3000 rpm when cold, and no power, wouldn't rev past 4000 rpm warm.
Mechanic did a back pressure test to diagnose.
Thought I'd pass it on.........
