Typical....It's like the little guys you see at the gym with a Napoleon Complex. They try to lift more weight then guys bigger than them.
I bet if your curling 50lb in one arm you are "throwing" it up and not doing a slow controlled curl WITHOUT moving your elbow. I see it all the time. Guys "whip" the weight up, buy swinging the dumbell from behind them to use the mometum to get it up, thinking they're cool. That is VERY poor for. And to those of us that know how to lift in the proper, technical, beneficial way, those guys stand out as "tools".
I've got decent sized arms and am approx 205lb 6'2" and I curl 40lb dumbells PROPERLY in sets of 10, for 3 sets. Byt ehlast rep of the last set, it's a struggle to lift.
Bragging you can throw up a 50lb dumbell, at your size is going to get you the negative attention you deserve.
