I just bought a large sheet of wire mesh from Lowes (since its the same thing that people sell on ebay/aesthetic shops for 20+ bucks that isnt large enough for the bottom front grill). I know there are some smart people here that did the same thing. After the pieces are cut to size, what would be the best way to go about putting them on? Adhesive, or...?

go to search, type in Aussie grilles, and ask Stazi the Aussie, he should know.

the lower grilles have clips on them to hold them in place.
just use those same clips to hold your mesh on by bending the mesh a bit over the tabs and putting the clips back over the tabs the way they were.

Are you doing both grilles?

Like LoCo said, the front oval one is a PITA, but looks good. Unfortunately, it does not work that great as the mesh between the chrome ring and black piece does not allow them to properly join again...

And I forgot to put adhesive on the screws...so I just have welding stuff all around the ring...hopefully it will prevent them from backing out. I'm not sure what kind of force is exerted on the chrome ring everytime you brake...but I'll find out.

I didnt use any adhesive on the screws and it's still holding strong.

yeah the oval is the hardest, but also the sexiest looking when meshed. If done properly, it will hold up. Even with ELKY's heavy duty mesh the gap between the front and back of the oval is like 1/16th of an inch. Take your time and do it right and it will hold. Been on for 6 months, and is holding up nicely. Bottom grilles are "easier" but the front lower is a pain in the butt. You can use the stock clips, but when you put em back on squash em a bit with some pliers so they grab better. Be careful not to break them. Screws are a good substitute in the event that does happen.
