antonio, the focus in not NEAR a thing of beauty like the svt, imo, the svt is seriously one of the most beautiful sedans on the road. The focus cant compare. BUT, I could post some modified foci (sedans and hatches) that will just plain make you drool, this thing called "aftermarket" is a nice thing to have... laugh

I think the looks are so-so, but it's gonna be a hit, no doubt.

Love to read up on any mods.
Any recommendations, feel free to let me know.

If you want a recommendation, how about go drive a focus. Obvoius looks mean a lot to you, from what I gather, and I for one think the focus looks real decent, especially the SVT. I have to agree with Rara. Why knock a car you have never sat in, much less driven. Go try it....

To the naysayers who say the SVT Focus looks like a POS, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Cliche, I know, but it's true. I for one think the Focus looks great.

As for handling, from what I've read and heard, the SVT Focus should be at least as good in the twisties as the Tour, and just about as fast straightline. Also, I wish the SVT Tour had HALF the quality of the interior finishing the SVT Focus has -- high-quality plastics, two-tone leather seats, etc... Even the lesser versions of the Focus (my parents have an SE sedan) have much nicer plastics and ergonomics than my Tour.

And let's not forget another very important part... as of right now, Ford SVT seems to be bending over backwards to please the SVT Focus customers -- something they never did for us.

Heck, with all my talking, I've almost convinced myself to sell off the SVT Tour for a Focus when it comes out...almost... cool

My 2000 CSVT handles great in the twisties. I'm curious as to why people think the Focus SVT will handle better. Is the suspension that much better in the FSVT? smile

Ditto. I, too, have driven the zx3 countless times (family member has one) and i don't know how someone can say it drives like sheeet. I think it drives great, and just thinking about the svt makes me surely want to try one out. And, of course, there are those who don't like the looks of it. That is something YOU (Tony) need to decide on. Believe me, there are plenty of people who think contours are ugly.
I sat in the svt focus and i was very impressed. Interior looked much better than my svt (black, mmmm) and from my experiences with the zx3, i'm sure with less rattles. Would i trade in my 'tour for it? Thought about it. Probably wouldn't go through with it because the 'tour, IMO, has a more adult (for lack of a better word) look to it.

wink You'll notice I said almost... Believe me, I love my contour - I'm just saying that the SVT Focus is one heck of an option if you're into European-bred hatchbacks.

Ahh, if only we could get the S3 stateside, but that's an entirely different topic, isn't it...
