Hell the only CD i purchased this year was Coldplay X&Y. I would go and preview other albums but only two or three songs were worth a damm. I just cant justify $17-18 for a CD with just a couple good songs on it. Those artist are way over payed. Ill buy my $10 DVD before i buy a music CD.

Dredg - Catch Without Arms
This is an incredible album. I went to a Coheed and Cambria concert and heard them playing before Coheed. They are incredible live and the album is awesome.
Coheed and Cambria - Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness
This album is one of the best albums I've ever heard. The album before this one: "In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3" is also incredible. These guys are great live too.
The Used - self titled My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge The Killers - Hot Fuss (was 2004) Our Lady Peace - Healthy In Paranoid Times Fall Out Boy - From Under The Cork Tree
I could go on. There are tons of good stuff coming out all the time. Sometimes you have to look for it though.

The first weeks of release for every "normal" (non-special edition[like ones that include dvd's]) at Best But are $10. And after that are usually between $12-15. Just sounds like a lame excuse for not getting off your butt and listening t some new stuff...

Who the hell pays retail for CDs anymore? I buy all mine online, some new, some used, but all for half that price or less.

Audioslave's 2nd album is probably the best one I picked up this year. I wasn't too impressed with Weezer's latest - in fact I think it's probably their worst album (which means it's still better than 99% of other popular music). The White Stripes joint was pretty good. I'm surprised I like those guys as much as I do.

I need to get all of the above; I have other albums by Kreator and Dark Tranquility (heavy stuff!) and the first Demons & Wizards, and liked all of them.

I have this, haven't really digested it yet though.

Their first one is great; even better than Ark's Burn the Sun IMO, and that's saying a lot. I still need to get Aeronautics, though.

I saw Brianstorm at Progpower USA 5, and saw Andy Franck again with Symphorce at PP6 this past September. Brainstorm were absolutely freakin' incredible, and Symphorce wasn't bad either.

Decent album, probably belongs on my list actually...

Hate Crew Death Roll was pretty damn good, and Follow the Reaper before that wasn't bad either. I need to get the new one, if only for their reportedly hilarous cover of "Oops I Did it Again."

"Bat Country" is the first song in years that's excited me to catch on the radio. I like to think that I give all music a fair shake, but after graduating high school in '94 I rapidly grew disillusioned with mainstream rock... But then the WWW exploded in early '95, so the timing was perfect. If it weren't for the Internet, or if we were still connecting to Compuserve at 300 baud for $12.50 an hour , I'd still be listening to old Iron Maiden albums having completely given up on anything new.
NP: Samantha F... Uh, the last song was Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, I'm not listening to Touch Me, really!
