Natural Born Chaos is one of my top twenty favorite albums of all time, and despite Figure Number Five's strong commerical leanings I liked it as well. Stabbing the Drama didn't do a lot for me, though; it had some of the elements that made NBC great, but sounded to me like more of a return to their A Predator's Portrait and even Chainheart Machine sound, and I'm pretty lukewarm on their early efforts. I should go back and give StD another listen, though.
The titled song is the first song I've heard from them, and I like a few other songs on the CD. Haven't heard anything else from them, though.

I'm afraid I just don't "get" Strapping Young Lad, but some of Devin Townsend's other projects are phenomonal. I have an, uh, extralegal copy of his as yet unreleased album Synchestra, and it's incredible. Do you have his Ocean Machine and Infinity albums?
I heard of them via the song "Relentless" that Roadrunner put on the MTV2 Headbangers Ball CD. Then I heard "Love?" and liked it, so I bought the Alien CD. I like the aggressive nature of the songs.

I couldn't stand their first album, but what I've heard from Toxicity and Hypnotize/Mezmerize is fairly interesting. I need to investigate further...
I like[d] nearly all the songs off the Toxicity CD, but I agree with you on the self titled... not so good. I only liked "Sugar" for some reason (not that great of a song), and "Spiders" was a good tune IMO.
I haven't heard any songs off Hypnotize, but while I was in Kuwait, the English station played "B.Y.O.B." I didn't like it at first, b/c it sounded like a lot of random noise thrown together, but it caught on with me after a while.
Really I have been behind the curve on picking up music. I no longer get the chance to hear stuff like the old "Metal Meltdown" they used to play when I was in middle school. Radio stations near where I've lived blow. A lot of the music I do get exposed to I hear off Chronix Agression/Metal and Hard Drive Radio. I stream Chronix via iTunes and download Hard Drive from their site.

First off, a disclaimer... this is on the limits of how soft of music I listen to...
I heard this band on Hard Drive yesterday when I downloaded last week's episode... The band is Flyleaf (or if you prefer thier myspace).
They are a light rock band, but the chick singer sounds like Avril Lavigne's lost twin (no I don't like Avril's music!). The band is cooler than her's, though. Anyway, some of you guys here might like it.
