I've recently started a gym membership and have gotten more serious about working out. I'm looking to buy some whey protein and possibly some Creatine. I'm prob. gonna hold off on the Creatine for now until I can do more research and find out more information about it and how to properly use it. I'm wondering what you guys have tried as far as protein powders? Flavors, types, brands, where to buy? Also would you reccomend any other supplements to compliment my new workout regimen? I've read recently that Vitamin B supplements really help with Creatine absorption but, I'm not gonna worry about that for now. Any information is appreciated. Thanks.

When I was working out a lot I used Creatine before they removed whatever was bad in it and really I didn't like it. What it is supposed to do is put water around your muscles but really it didn't do anything for me. I would say protein is good but only 80 grams per day. More than that and your body cannot process that. Even 80 is a lot but 80 is what I heard. Creatine is ok now I guess but more hours is what I did and I felt better about it anyway. In about a month I benched a lot more with protein alone, not Creatine; Creatine didn't help that much. There are a lot more well informed people on this board but I would still stay away from Creatine in anycase.

creatine is a bad route to take, unless you plan on taking it forever. your body produces creatine already, so once you stop taking it, your body can only sustain itself at the level of creatine it already makes. don't cheat when working out, just lift heavy. not to mention the negative side effects creatine can have.
protein whey is good, but 80 grams is an aweful lot. most have around 20-25g a serving, and really, an extra 25 grams of protein every workout will yeild results anyway. don't count on it making you much stronger though, mostly just to add weight and muscle mass (which are not directly related to strength). to the person who said they noticed results with protein after a month, you probably would've have the same results w/o the protein.

Right now my dad, brother, and myself use EAS MyoPro Whey protein. I think any whey protein is about the same. We usually just get whatever is on sale. They have a really good strawberry imho. Tastes dead up like McDonolds strawberry shakes. Chocolate is good too. Vanilla is my least favorite. As far as creatine, Ive taken it before and as for me, it didnt do anything. I have extremely high metabolism so perhaps thats why. My brother took it as well back in the day and he got very little gains as well. I have taken androstene, the supplement that Mark Mcquire took before it was banned. Seems like anything that works, they label as a "steroid" and ban it. I noticed some decent results from that. I picked up about 8 lbs, but lost it after i came off. Not sure if you can get it anywhere here in the US. I know you can buy trenbolene, which is a steroid. Its perfectly legal and can be bought over the counter since its used in the veternarian field. Just mash up the tablets into a powder and mix it with some grape seed oil. Apply it to the soft part of your skin behind the knee or the front side of your elbow. Its more of a "ripping up" type steroid instead of a weight gainer, but works fairly well and is cheap. Only drawback is it makes your breathe smell like garlic and it can put a downer on your sex drive. Btw, none of these suppliments will work without consistancy and dedication in the gym.

ok this thread gives me a chance to ask a question or two i got in my head after reading a mens health magazine. In it it said that too much cardio drops testosterone output for some unsaid length of time, so how much should you do? When should you do it? before or after a weight training session? The mag also said to not too too many muscle specific exercises and do more core exercises, so should you do the major muscle group exrecises first? or the specific muscle exercises first?

yes creatine is not the best route to take ! so i dont advise it . its good if you take it all the time and drink massive amounts of water , and work out ALOT !
side affects also of it that iv seen in my self so far "" muscle cramps , sharp muscle pains , drowzy , and slight mood swings ""
stick to shakes and vitamins and a good diet and stick to it and youll see the best results .
i know alot of ppl takeing Tribulus (sp) and have found it helps . and i tend to like my HGH makes ya a bit more lean and havent read any thing bad or had any side effects
best of luck to ya and dont over do it and hurt your self

lets see if i can help ya here
cardio for most 10-20 min just get your heart rate up jump on the eliptical or some thing ..
and do it before your work out .
also pick a muscle group for each day say like monday : chest tues: back weds : rest thurs : quads , hamstrings, calves fri : shoulders sat: rest sun : arms
some thing along these lines .. some ppl say different but each to there own what ever works for that person

www.bulknutrition.com Is your friend.
I order all my stuff from there, great prices and great forums for asking questions. Creatine Ethyl Ester is great to use, no loading period at all and you can feel the benefits practically during your first workout with it. Just be aware that you NEED to drink LOTS of water. I mean a gallon or so a day, possibly more. Try and eat as much food protein as possible, then supplement with whey, egg, casein, etc...
I stopped taking creatine a little while ago because I was afraid of the damage it could POSSIBLY do to my kidney/liver on top of college drinking.

Anyone who takes protein and expects gains from it is stupid. If you take 200 grams of protein a day, you won't see a damn thing different. It takes a lot of hard work to see gains, protein just allows you to achieve those gains.
