I have never driven or owned a worse cold-weather car. I was able to crawl in from the passenger side this morning, only to have the car not start. I said f*ck it and took my wife's Jeep to work.

One more year of payments, one more year of payments, one more...

HAHA! That's what I did. I could barely hold it while taking the sweeping right hand on ramp. That thing really lets the inertia take control. The wind was gusting pretty bad on the highway, and it was trying to pull the door open but the wind from driving wasn't letting it. It was a bit freaky, so I pulled off and let it warm up more!! hahah

Headline = Man falls out of car beause door flew open!

I was wearing my seatbelt so that really couldn't happen!

Funny .. the Contour to me was an excellent winter car, particularly in the snow.

One of my friends who's in California right now took the time to IM me how chilly it got there last night ("it dipped below 60 for the first time" since they arrived).

<bitter>

^^ in more way than one ...

Well, as much as I miss my SVT, the POS Lumina I bought is very good in the snow with a set of all-season's! In fact, I would venture to say that it is the best winter car I've had. It soaks up pot holes really well, has pretty quick steering for correcting slides and is pretty easy to work on.

That's a good thing, because, after this storm, I had to pull the door panel off to spray down the internals of the door with PB blaster-It was frozen solid after water worked down into the door after sitting overnight(which is why none of our doors will latch). I always worried about ripping the weather stripping off the SVT, but the Luminas is VERY thick and won't come off unless I physically pried it off with a screwdriver
