ok here we go again. I have a 2000 CSVT with 115,000. My problem is a loud moan basically whenever the car feels like it wants to be heard. Usually happens when it is colder..but it happens pretty regularly. Anyways, it also makes the car stall and when i get out...i smell weird emissions like smells. ( i'm not a car whiz..so thats the best i can do) I've tried the two methods of repair that you list for repairing the moose ( clamp on IAC pipe, and nut with hole in it within pipe) and neither worked. I was told to replace the Throttle Position Sensor which i did with mixed results. I must say that the moaning was considerably less frequent..the car idled at very sporadic RPM's and it took forever for the RPM's to drop to regular after you hit the gas. Any suggetions on how to fix this? Oh and to top it all off...i need a new alternator..how hard is this to replace..how much at a shop?..just wondering..Thanks

Try copper cap throttle hang fix or do the 96 bagpipe fix or 97 45 degree hose and new IAC fix.

Edit. TH fix.

Here are the links with pictures for the 96 and 97 fix. Note the diagram on the far right is not the 96 fix. That is the stock 95 to 96 (maybe 97 also) resonators. Either one cost about $100.

This article shows the 96 stock and bagpipe fix.
