I think it's HEET. Absorbs water in the fuel system.
The V6s with variable valve timing- retard the exhaust cam = better top end.
A vacuum leak is less apparent at high rpms.
Good-on-ya with the cam tool. Did you have to move either cam? If you did and didn't use any kind of Loctite material, one of them might of walked. There's supposed to be a Loctite to put on the cam to gear joint, that's to retain them.
