Hah, I hate to admit it but I agree. Southern rap in terms of lyricism is pathetic, but the beats just get you bouncing around in the club. For instance, Three 6, T.I., Field Mob are absolutely wack, but with a good beat and some sourthern charm you start feeling it! I dunno, maybe it was the 3 years I lived in ATL that got me hooked!
Yeah, old school is definitely good stuff, too. Eric B/Rakim, the Killer Bees/Wu-tang, etc.
