Got the car back from the dealership after they fixed something after breaking something....now we're back to, they broke something after fixing something....I swear, everytime....

This time, they were working on the fuel vent hose...

I get in the car to go home and find that the:

radio
vantiy mirror lights
clock

do not have power. How in the freakin world did they do this??

It looks like those items are actually on different fuses. I really expected to find that they had actually caused a fuse to blow somehow. Am I reading the manual incorrectly? Are these items in fact all on the same circuit?

The central timer module will control those things.. (interior lights, door ding sound, timer module, etc.)

so will the clock spring. (radio, cruise control, clock, etc) though I am not sure about the vanity lights being tied in to the clockspring..

My bet would be the central timer unit.

Search in troubleshooting for a CTU (central timing/timer unit) test procedure posted/replied in within the last 6 months. I DO believe it was by Btrautman, if you wanted to search by user name in troubleshooting..

Do that test procedure to eliminate the CTU as a culprit.

Just noticed this morning, add to the list:

dome light/map lights
glove box light
side power mirrors

I'll check for CTU related threads.
In the meantime, while I'm at work today....any further help would be greatly appreciated...in hopes that I would have the 'fix' ready when I get home.

[EDIT]
The clock is kinda weird. It appears that the clock 'light' is working but there are NO digits showing the time. The light appears when I turn the key to the acc position.

This is the thread Ray is referring to.

As for the light on and no digital display on the clock, the illumination and the clock digital display are two different circuits. Most of us have problems with the illumination.

Thanks, Tony. I'll give the test a try shortly.

Add to the list now:
No keyless remote functionality.

For a cumulative total of:
No radio
No vantiy mirror lights
No clock (has illumination)
No dome light or map lights
No glove box light
No side power mirrors operation
No keyless remote functionality

I still think its the CTU.. but..

I will look in to the relationship with all these components as soon as I can.. (I'm at work at this moment...)

Ok...ran the tests.

For the Input test, it got to the point where I lifted the outside door handle to actuate the illuminated entry...this didn't happen.

For the Output test, everthing worked except the one that should've turned on the interior lamps.

So, if ANY of the parts the test fails, like above, does this indicate that the CTU is bad?

With the exception of things that the CTU controls, but aren't working independently.

(Example: CTU would control the interior lights, but if the lights were burnt out, or had a bad fuse, it doesn't mean the CTU is bad...)

If the test failed because EVERY interior light was out then it would be the CTU or a fuse to that interior circuit.
