Yeah,umm...maybe because a coupe is totally useless,I need/want a 4 door, insurance for me on an SS sedan is $530/month...yes...530...for full coverage with the car in my name,20 years old,1 accident and 1 ticket. So go figure,an SS/SC coupe will cost way more than that. I pay half that on my Contour right now,$215/mo,with the car in my parent's name with just liability, and the car is worth $1000,so I pay like 1.5x what my car is worth just to drive it.

....why would I get a lightened flywheel if I'm getting an automatic? It's also a lease so I can't really do anything to it,not that I really want or need to,because I have spent too much money modding cars and screwing them up,I think I'm just going to leave this alone, mostly because I won't be able to afford to mod it,but I also don't want to go and bastardize a brand new car.

Those cobalt SS's kick butt everytime I see them on TV. Saw one doing "time attacks" against heavily modded hondas, skyline, etc. and it was running the fastest time with not too much money into it (was a 'track car', but still very streetable with nothing crazy done).

Just read it doesn't come with the supercharger. Well that pretty much sucks. Take it back.

On the selection choice questions, what enticed you to the Cobalt over the Mazda3?

To each his own...

My sister owns a Cobalt, and I was about to buy a Mazda 3 sedan with every option. I drove the Cobalt and found the two to be extremely similar, except that the Mazda is more appliance like. Also the Pioneer stereo in my sister's Cobalt trounced the thing in the Mazda. Doesn't hurt that the Cobalt is quicker

Mazda3 is a little more expensive. Adding options adds up very fast, whereas an SS can only have a couple options and they don't cost much. I also like the look of the Cobalt more than the 3. I wouldn't say the SS without the supercharger will suck. It's got the midrange engine. LS,LT and LTZ models come with the 2.2L 145hp ecotec, the SS sedan and SS coupe come with the 2.4L 171hp ecotec and the SS supercharged coupe comes with the 2.0L 205hp ecotec.

Again, the SS/SC would cost me way too much on insurance, plus I don't want an SC car just for fear or reliability and maintenance problems, and the coupe is useless to me. One thing I like about the sedan is that it's 'different.' It's the kinda goofy but unique roofline that sets it apart, but I was following one on the highway today and from the rear it kinda looked like a Neon. The headlights are kinda big too,but I've seen factory eyebrow kits you can get for them and they make it look almost like a Saab or Scion TC.

Anyways, for the record,I'm picking up a black SS sedan, with the 17" 5 spoke alu rims and grey leather interior, with the premium Pioneer stereo (7 speakers,mp3,10" sub),power sunroof, automatic and I'll probably order the eyebrow kit, aluminum pedals and either the hood protector or have a clear bra installed. Black + rock chips = bad.
