will this work to get rid of some of the yellowing? i would really like to know, if anyone knows anything about it, what brand should i use and where should i get it?

The haze/yellow is in the surface of the plastic.

You must buff that off first.

Clearcoat with UV protection may help, not sure.

Isn't waxing a good idea after the sanding/rubbing/polishing process to prevent more hazing?

Yes, but how often do people actually wax? And it only delays the rehaze.

I plan to let the clearcoat be for a few weeks before I wax them with some regularity.

With the clearcoat and a once a month wax to the headlights, they should continue to be haze-free.
