i got a 96 contour and have the same problem.. i got a can of Turtle Wax Polishing Compound and some old face cloths(the textured kind ) wet the fACE cloth and ring out the water... put some paste on it and rub into the plastic lense.. takes about 10 minutes each lens.... also you can use a bonnet on an electric drill to spead up the process... i use some silver tape to tape up the painted area around the lense so i would not take the paint off... and with the hood open... took about three tries to make them look like new glass... i cheated by also using some magnifiy goggles to see where the tarnish was still located on the plastic lense.... cost of Turtle Wax polishing compound was $1.79... enough to last for a few years.. if it dries out in the can you just add a little water to it to work it up again into a paste....
